Day 62/ 365 – Colors of Sunset
Took this picture in the evening after sunset while roaming around on the Tarkarli beach.
Day 59/ 365 – Peacocks at Chincholi Morachi
Last Sunday, we visited a village called Chincholi Morachi. The village is approx. 50 kms away from Pune on Ahmednagar highway. Chincholi means Tamarind trees and Morachi means peacock, thus translating name of the village as Village of Tamarind trees and Peacocks. The drive to the village is very pleasant with rolling hills on the side. I had been here earlier along with Saurav Roy in December last year. As soon as we reached the village, we spotted a peacock but before I could take a picture, the peacock ran away. We then parked ahead on the side of the road and then entered the fields to observe some peacocks. We also ran into a local villager who told us how he feeds the peacocks on the daily basis and they are running away because we are strangers. By this time, we had already spent like 45 mins there. The villager asked us to stay back for some more time and the peacocks would come. However, we decided to make a move and head back to Pune. Overall, we had a good trip.
Day 58/ 365 – Sunset at Khandala
I captured this shot while returning from Khandala on Sunday evening. The sun was setting and the place was crowded with way too many people. I could only find a spot where there two branches in front of me. So I thought.. lets use them as props and tada.. the results are the below two pictures.
Day 56/ 365 – Evening time at Vasai Creek
Everyday I pass through this stretch and feel like taking a picture. The other day I finally parked my bike on the side of the road and took this picture.
Day 54/ 365 – Rose clicked at Manali
Took this picture of a rose just after it stopped raining a few months ago in Manali. Found this picture hidden somewhere in my archives and thought of sharing. Taken at ISO 200, F6.3 and focal length 208 mm.
Day 51/ 365 – Moon shot
Took this picture of moon yesterday with 250 mm lens. Obviously it didn’t turn out half as good as I expected. Probably need to get a 400 mm lens or higher to get a really good picture. To account for distortion, I increased the shutter speed to 1/400 and ISO to 800
Day 50/ 365 – Shiva – The God of Duality
I clicked this picture at Panchvati in Nasik. There is a small Shiva temple near Ramkund and it is easy to miss it. Shiva transcends all duality, one image to express this is the ardhanarishvara (“the Lord who is half woman”) As you can see, one half has male features and attributes, and the other half female (thus showing how Shiva transcends one of the most basic divisions among human beings, that of sex).
Day 48/ 365 – Concept photography
Decided to take this picture inspired by a post seen on Reddit some time back. Placed a green marble on the flash of the phone. I am thinking may be a more colorful marble would have given a different result.
Day 46/ 365 – Quiet Street
Took this picture of a quiet street late in the night. There is something about riding the bike on the quiet empty roads, in the winter chill which can never be met while riding on cold winter mornings.
