Weekend

So yes, the weekend was not so fun. I had a tough time handling the lizards but the good news is most of them are gone (I think so). I also sealed up most of the places from where they might be entering the room/house. Lets see how long the peace lasts.

On the other hand, I did enjoy the rest of my day yesterday, watching movies. I watched Superman Returns and American Desi. I remember watching the latter when I was in my university. It is one of my favorite movies. It is about an Indian-American kid who hates everything Indian. He leaves his house hoping he wouldn’t be facing anymore Indian things in his life, but to his bad luck all his roommates are Indian and he falls in love with an Indian girl. The movie shows how the guy starts warming up to his roomies and how they help him get the girl. The movie is extremely funny.. I would recommend everyone to see it.

Oh well, the weekend is over and it is back to work week. I have too much pending to finish this week. Next week, we have a new guy starting and I will be caught up in training him. I am just hoping things go well and I am able to finish everything on time.

Attack of the Lizards

Help!!! Help!!! Help!! My bedroom has been attacked by lizards. I came home from work last night and saw three lizards in my room. I also think I saw a couple of them copulate. It seems that they have broken the silent pact between me and them and now it is time for war. I have already starting collecting my weapons, which include bug sprays, more powerful bug sprays, broom and a stick. This weekend is going to the most brutal weekend ever in the history of lizard and human conflict. In case any of you have suggestions please do tell me. And yes wish me luck.

News from my life

I have taken up French training which is being offered at work, so now I am usually at office from 9:30am in the morning until 10:30-11:00pm Mon, Wed and Friday. The course is going to last until July, after which I will be able to give A level exams in French. The exams are conducted by the Ministry of Education in France and the classes are conducted by Alliance Francaise. The reason I decided to go ahead with French was because I thought it will be kewl learn a new language. And it will also probably help me find a job later on in EU. I am hoping that I will get good enough to write a post in French pretty soon (obviously with translation).

The other news is that I am also now learning to play the guitar. I brought myself an acoustic guitar this past weekend. (Photo will uploaded soon). This also removes one item from my wishlist. Now, I am an absolute newbie when it comes to playing the guitar, but I am learning. I have a couple of e-books to start with, though I dont know what would be better; to learn via an instructor or via books. The aim is to learn to play something by the end of April. Lets see how it goes..

Restroom ettiquette

The last few weeks I have been observing that some of my colleagues dont wash their hands after taking a leak. Now seriously guys how much time does it take to wash your hands? I am sure their mommies must have taught them “Son, when you take a leak, wash your hands”. I wonder how can some people forget or ignore such things. The good part is that once I see someone not wash their hands after finishing their business, I make it a point to not have a handshake with them. You never know where last their hands might be. I know ewwww.. right!!!

The other thing I have observed is people talking on their cell phones while minding their business in the restroom.. I can understand some calls are very important.. but still I find it extremely gross to pick up my phone, while I am busy..Hmm some people do have some really weird habits. Ohh I have also heard some people playing games on their mobile phones.. Talk about some pressure to perform. There is one more thing that I dont like about some of my colleagues here is that they tend to sing in the restroom, which can get really annoying.. Anyways I am going to end this post here before it gets too gross..

New Blogger Template

Just updated to the new Blogger and I should say it does do a better job when it comes to organizing stuff in a easier manner. For the time being I have decided to not play with the template section, but I will make some changes in the near future. In the mean time I have added a books section. These are books that are currently in my library. I know it is very minimal, but I am expanding. I am thinking of adding the DVD collection also.. but not so sure about it. I also think the page needs some more visuals, so I might be adding a few things in the background. Until then.. enjoy this new look 🙂

Fear

Yes, lately I have been living in fear whenever I sit in the car. I fear for my life and my colleague’s life. The reason for the fear is the accident I was involved in the last month. Ever since that day, I feel that the cab I am travelling in is going to be hit by something huge.. may be a bus or a truck. Every day when the car takes a U-turn at the intersection where we got hit last time, I make it a point to look to my left and see if there is anything huge coming my way. Everytime the cab driver takes off thinking he is driving the car in the video game, it makes me feel very very scared. I am not scared of heights, or water or fire or spiders. I am not claustrophobic and nor do I have any weird fears, except this. I usually dont think much about things like this. Even in this case, I initially shrugged it off. But now everytime I am on the road, I just feel I am going to get involved in some accident. I have also realised that when it comes to high speed driving I only trust 3 people, my bro, my cuz and myself. Anyways, I am hoping to get rid of this fear as soon as possible.. only time will tell.
